Tommy Ferguson was born June 19,1953 in Key West, Florida where he was raised by his parents Sherman and Shirley “Gabriel” Davis, and was the oldest of 9 children. Tommy was a commercial fisherman all of his adult life. He worked on boats named ”Three Sisters” & “Hallie Marie” where he earned the nickname Slim Hopper. One of these boats brought him to Texas in 1981. In August of 1983 he married Freeport native, Aletha Royston and they raised three children together. Temecka, Tommy Jr., and Tyrone.
 Tommy is preceded in death by his parents Shirley “Gabriel” Davis & Sherman Davis, brother Johnny Ferguson, aunties Winifred Gabriel, Frances Gabriel, Dolores “Gabriel” Mathis, Patricia “Gabriel” Manning, Clotila “Gabriel” Ashe , Antoinette “Gabriel” Roberts and Mary “Gabriel” Welters; uncles Baby John Gabriel, John Gabriel, Daniel Gabriel, Prince Gabriel, Cupid Gabriel, and Michael Gabriel.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Aletha Ferguson. Children Temecka Lynn Pierce (Billy), Tommy Lee Ferguson Jr. (Marcie), and Tyrone Lamar Ferguson (Crystal). God child Daaiyah Davis. Grandchildren Kevin Davis Jr., Ti’Shaun Davis, Jalen Ferguson, and Brayden Pierce. Sisters Donna Walker, Barbara Cleare, Linda Green, Brenda Davis & Kim Davis. Brothers Ryan (Sheinise), Brian, Sherman(Tiffany) Davis. 6 Nieces: Ayesha Osborne, Monique Green, Laray Osborne, Shermya Davis Camisha Womble, Breonda Charles. 12 Nephews: James “Roc” Osborne, Sherman, Dondre, Damonta, DeBryan, Jordan, Zion, JaMare, Elijah Davis & Matthew Daniel, Don & Lamont Green. Numerous great nieces and nephews and host of cousins. Special friends: Mark Rigby, Mike Narel, Louis Anderson, Leonard Hunt, and Christine Edwards. A special thank you to Nurse Pamela Washington.
Big Tommy never met a stranger and was loved by so many people. His heart was pure and like gold. We will all miss his laugh, his big smile, and amazing hugs. He will forever be in our hearts!
