Biography: On Tuesday, August 20, 1957,  a baby girl was born to Luella Washington and Rev. Albert Banks in Rosharon, Texas.  They lovingly named her Joyce Mae Washington.
At an early age Joyce accepted Christ as her Lord and Saviour and was baptized. She realized God as the source and strength of all things in life.
 She attended Angleton High School; afterwards she received her Nursing Degree as an R.N. from Houston Community College and became gainfully employed at Westbury Specialty Hospital, in Houston.  Joyce’s first born was Tomesha (Moon) Colo’n.  She later married Agibola Taju-Deen Dehniya.  To this union  two boys were born, Taju Deen and Blyden.    
Joyce loved her family and family gatherings; they were always times when laughter filled the room.  She also enjoyed family vacations, cooking, shopping, and playing cards.
 Joyce transitioned from this life to life eternal on Wednesday, June 21, 2023.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Luella Washington and Rev. Albert Banks; her son Taju-Deen Agibola Dahniya, and her brother David Washington.
 Joyce leaves the joys of her sweet memories to her husband, Agibola Taju Deen Dahniya, her devoted children, Tomesha (George) Colo’n, and Blyden (Hollie) Dahniya; her sisters, Rose Washington,    Daisy Little, Ann Holman, Shirley Washington, and Regina Williams; her brothers,  Johnnie Lee     Washington, Jessie James Washington, Dennis Thomas, and George Noble; her grandchildren, Hali, Jasmine, Chanice, Braylen, Ty, Lauren, Jaylen, Hazel; her great grandchildren, Zaiden, Cali, Carsyn, Myla Rose, Rylon, Taryn; her step-mother, Dana Hitch-Banks, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
