Floyd Offing departed this life on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Friendswood Care Home, Friendswood, Texas.  Visitation for him will be held Friday, February 11, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Gardner’s Funeral Home 507 W. Orange St., Angleton, Texas.  A Celebration of his Life will be held 11:00a.m. Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Gardner’s Funeral Home Angleton, Texas, Brother Dale Williams, Officiant and Brother Algie Armstead, Eulogist, celebration also at Gardner’s Funeral Home.  On March 30, 1955, this precious gift from God was placed in the care of Willie Offing and Willie Mae Hugley, in       Somerville, Texas.  At a young age, Floyd began preaching and continued preaching until the day of his passing.  Beginning his ministry in Galveston, Floyd progressively ministered across Texas becoming a household name to Churches of Christ statewide.  His obedience to His heavenly Father was evident in his daily life, with in-depth knowledge of the Word of God.  In 1982, he begins his career at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.  After a few years Floyd was promoted to Sergeant.  He continued that position until his retirement in 2004.  After which he was hired by the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office.  There he was endorsed as a Field Training Officer.  Floyd received multiple achievements and awards until his retirement in 2012.  He loved fishing early in the mornings, singing hymns and studying God’s word. Floyd was also an accomplished painter.  He loved soul food and sweets.  He loved his grandchildren, and was a proud grandfather.  The gift of his love is a cherished treasure that cannot be diminished by the separation of his soul.  Floyd was loved unconditionally by his former wife Kippie Ogunluyi, his son, Floyd Isaiah Offing,(Brittany),  his daughter, Rebecca Knight; his brothers, Stevie Offing, Harold Hugley; his sister, Jimmie Mae Offing Cooper; his grandchildren and members of the church
