Biography: A Graveside Celebration of life for Carolyn Barrett Jones, 71, of Angleton, Texas, will be held Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at Peaceful Rest Cemetery, Brazoria, TX.  Rev. Leon Robinson Officiating. Carolyn, passed away peacefully, Monday, February 8, 2021.  Visitation will be held from 4:00PM – 8:00PM on Friday, February 12, 2021 at Gardner’s Funeral Home, 507 W. Orange, Angleton, Texas. Everyone is asked to wear a mask and respect social distancing guidelines. Carolyn affectionately known as “CJ” was born on August 24, 1949 in Angleton, Texas to Charlie Frank Barrett Sr. and Earnestine Diggs Barrett.  When she was not taking care of her beloved mother, she enjoyed giving to others, spending time with family and friends and simply enjoying life. Additionally, she served the Angleton community by serving as a proud member and President of the American Legion Auxiliary of George W. Carver Unit #835.  Throughout her life, God was always her focus. She attended a few different places of worship; however, she found a church home at First Missionary Baptist Church and became a member under the leadership of Pastor G.R. Holland.   Carolyn was preceded in death by her father, Charlie Frank Barrett Sr.; mother Earnestine Diggs Barrett; two aunts, Lula Malone and Loretta Diggs; and five uncles, Maxie Diggs Jr., Milton Diggs, Gylum Diggs, Alphonse Diggs and Leroy Diggs.   Carolyn is survived by her son, Carlton Wayne Barrett of Angleton; brother, Charlie Frank Barrett Jr. (Venessa) of Fresno; two nieces, Teresa Rhodes and Shakeisicia Barrett; nephew, Charles Barrett; four great nieces, Jaide, Taylor, Riley, Londyn; three aunts, Bessie Stewart, Deloris Ford (Robert), Essie Tolbert; two uncles, Oscar Lee Diggs Sr., John Henry Diggs Sr.; and a host of other family members and friends.   Final and Most Sacred Arrangements Entrusted to Gardner Funeral Home, 507 W. Orange Street, Angleton, TX.
