Biography: Private funeral service for McKinley Owens, Jr., 68, will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2020, at 11:00 a.m., at Bible Way Baptist Church, 201 East Miller Street, Angleton, Texas 77515; Rev. Alonzo Brown, Pastor. Interment will follow at Providence Church Cemetery, Rosharon, Texas.  A public viewing will be held on Friday, September 4, 2020, from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Gardner Funeral Home located at 507 W Orange Street in Angleton, Texas.   McKinley Owens, Jr. was born on Tuesday, October 9, 1951 in Alvin,      Texas to Mary Louise and McKinley Owens, Sr.  He accepted Christ as his personal savior at an early age.  He enjoyed Fishing, Hunting, Cooking, Kung Fu, and Westerns. He loved his family and encouraged family gatherings.  McKinley united in holy matrimony to Ruby Owens.  They were married for 30 years.  He was a devoted husband and father.  On Monday, August 24, 2020, McKinley peacefully entered the gates of heaven and made it his eternal home. McKinley leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife Ruby Owens, his children, Tara Hansen, Jocelyn Nelson, Otis Owens, Yolanda Dotson, Star Dotson, Nathan Young, and the youngest being Ruby Dotson.  His siblings, Ethel Grear  (Mike), Josephine Granville, Stephyne Woodard, Randy Owens and Elliot Owens, his 15 grandchildren, and  7 great grandchildren; special sisters-in-law, Djuana Monroe, Dianne Young and Sharon Kitchens.  Active Pallbearers, Otis Owens, Marcus Reynolds, Robie Brown, Deshun Dotson, James Woodard, Chikee Hobbs, Paris Hobbs, and Emmitt Daniels.

My heart was truly sadden when I heard of the passing of Mr. McKinley. He was a devoted husband and father to his family. He will be surly missed. My prayers and condolences go out to his devoted wife Ruby and the rest of the family. God Bless.
