Lloyd Ford affectionately known as " Bud" went home to be with the Lord on April 13, 2020 at age 85. Lloyd was born to Willie and Arrie D Ford on October 1, 1934 in Plain Dealing, Louisiana. As a child, he enjoyed working the family land with his siblings and parents. Lloyd attended Bossier Parish schools, accepted Christ, and was baptized at First Baptist Church, Plain Dealing as a teenager.
Lloyd met his wife, Marjorie Price in their hometown and moved to Houston to court and marry her. The lovebirds married soon after on October 27, 1956. Lloyd and Marjorie started a family, worked, and settled down in Houston, Texas.
In addition to being a devoted and loving husband, Lloyd worked diligently for Southern Building Material for 30 years, owned a debris removal company for over 15 years, and and was a committed member of Lilly Grove Missionary Baptist Church for over 52 years. Throughout his life, Mr. Ford was an active and devoted member of the Deacon Board, Sunday School, Baptist Training Union, and the Male Chorus. He enjoyed the outdoors, building and machinery, and his favorite hobby, a good game of dominoes. Lloyd held an unwavering faith in God, which he shared with those who surrounded him.
Preceded in death by his parents Willie and Arrie D Ford. His brothers Frager, Benjamin, and Clyde Ford. His sisters Thelma Green, Cloteal Kemp, and Mammie Manning.
Mr. Ford leaves to cherish a life well lived, his loving wife of 63 years Marjorie Price Ford, his children Yolanda Carroll (Cornelious), Andrea Williams, Cabrienna Gardner (Edwin), Lloyd F Ford, and Keith A Ford. His brothers William Charles Ford, MacArthur Ford and Essie Douglas Ford. Brother-in-law’s Robert Price (Estella) Clinton Price (Annie) Sisters-in-law Geraldine Atkins (Willie). His grandchildren Carnisha Emanuel (Benjamin), Shannon Johnson (Sean), Deontez Ford Carroll, Gerry Austin, Frederick Austin (Ashley), Byron Austin, Ashley Ford, Amaya Ford, Lloyd F Ford Jr, and Secret Ford. Also, nine great-grandchildren. Lloyd will be remembered by a host of loving relatives and friends.
